There will be no more linen this year. Last night's wine, Vinho Verde, will perhaps linger -- there isn't a rule for that -- but it won't be long now before we trade in the $6.99 summer spritz for Garnacha and Cabernet Franc. Meanwhile, these red pants are about to spend the rest of 2017 in a drawer.
We normally take a break from writing on holidays in the United States, but want to drop a quick note from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where Meghan and I often escape on such occasions as this Labor Day Weekend.
This summer Wine:Thirty Flight has tasted our first lineup of Swedish wine, toured Viking Ships in Norway, tried the barbecue in Memphis, broken down and experimented with a wine club in exchange for United Airlines miles (more to follow on the results of that), celebrated Rosé, Albariño, and Pinot Noir, and -- yes -- actually reviewed the Game of Thrones label red wine from Paso Robles.
We're closing the book in Summer 2017 with a short weekend bucket list:
- Cocktails at South Hollow Spirits
- Tuna Bolognese at the Blackfish (17 Truro Center Road, Truro, MA)
- Last lunch before the ferry at Ross' Grill, as always
Cheers, and thanks for sticking with us. Enjoy the day!
