First look at spectacular wine making and beautiful places in the Canary Islands

We've just time for a quick check in from Arrecife, on the island of Lanzarote in Spain's Canary Islands where we've had a remarkable string of days meeting wonderful people, sampling their unique food and wine, and drinking some of their spectacular wines.

More sure to follow, but for the moment we wanted to share some early returns of the stunning -- and at times other-worldly -- scenes here: black sand beaches crowned with volcanic rock into which are hewn vineyards that rise to the mountains. The islands of Tenerife and Lanzarote are, while different from one another, truly extraordinary places unlike any you've seen elsewhere.

Cheers!
